About this facility
Acacia by Pacific Senior Living is a purpose-built senior living residence in Klang, Selangor, operated by Pacific Senior Living Sdn Bhd, which is part of the Seattle-headquartered Columbia Pacific Management Group. The property was converted from the former Merrida Hotel and officially launched in November 2023. It occupies a resort-like setting in Kawasan 17, Klang, with reasonably convenient access to Kuala Lumpur. Acacia positions itself firmly at the premium end of the market, targeting independent and assisted-living residents aged 60 and above — it is not a conventional nursing home and does not take on acute medical cases.
The residence has 136 private rooms across three tiers — Superior (312 sq ft), Executive, and Premier (up to 592 sq ft) — each with an ensuite bathroom, smart TV, writing desk, and mini fridge. Assisted living units start from RM 9,200 per person per month; independent living from RM 8,500. Wellness Associates are on-site 24/7 for non-clinical support, and healthcare professional visits are scheduled rather than resident. Columbia Asia serves as the strategic healthcare partner under a memorandum of understanding signed in August 2023. On-site amenities include a senior-friendly swimming pool with jacuzzi, gymnasium, mini theatre, karaoke room, games area, F&B restaurant, and hobby workshop. The Silver Club day programme (7 am–7 pm daily) is open to non-residents.
Acacia is the right fit for relatively independent seniors or early assisted-living needs; families expecting full nursing-home-level clinical care should look elsewhere. The pricing is among the highest in Selangor and does not appear to include JKM subsidy eligibility given its private premium model. Confirm precisely what triggers an escalation from Wellness Associate support to nursing-level care, what Columbia Asia's role actually covers day-to-day (scheduled visits, not full-time on-site), and what additional fees apply for medication management, physiotherapy sessions, or transport to hospital.
